In Greene County district court Michael David Teeples, 23, of Jefferson was granted a deferred judgment after he pleaded guilty to a charge of possession with intent to deliver marijuana. He was placed on probation for three years and must undergo a substance abuse evaluation and complete any recommended treatment at his own expense. A judgment was entered for a $750 civil penalty, a $125 Law Enforcement Initiative surcharge and $180 court costs. Teeples was initially charged with distributing illegal drug near a school and failure to affix a tax stamp. A charge in magistrate court of possession of drug paraphernalia was dismissed. Glenn Edward Summers, 34, of Glidden was sentenced to two five-year prison terms Dec. 15 after he pleaded guilty to charges of criminal mischief- second degree and burglary- third degree. The terms are to be consecutive and also consecutive to prison terms in three Carroll County cases. The prison terms were suspended and he was placed on probation for five years. He shall reside at a residential correctional facility until the maximum benefits are attained. Summers was fined $750 with a $262.50 surcharge on both charges; the fines and surcharges were suspended. He must pay a $125 LEI surcharge on each charge, $5,000 restitution to Holiday RV, restitution for his court appointed attorney to be determined and $347.10 court costs. Summers was initially charged with burglary- third degree (two counts), ongoing criminal conduct, attempted burglary- third degree, and burglary- third degree, vehicle (13 counts). Joseph Ross Jabaay, 36, of Jefferson was sentenced to five years in prison after he pleaded guilty to a charge of possession of methamphetamine- third or subsequent offense. The prison term was suspended and he was placed on probation for three years. He must undergo a substance abuse evaluation and complete any recommended treatment at his own expense. His driver’s license was revoked for 180 days. Jabaay was fined $750 with a $262.50 surcharge, a $10 surcharge for drug abuse resistance education (DARE), and a $125 LEI surcharge. Court costs were $180. A charge of possession of drug paraphernalia in magistrate court was dismissed with $60 court costs. (Sentencing: Kester)
Theodore John Herrick, 36, of Jefferson was fined $625 with a $218.75 surcharge after he changed his plea to guilty to a charge of driving while license barred. Court costs were $100. (Sentencing: Kester)
Michael lee Warner, 30, of Greenfield was sentenced to two years in prison after he pleaded guilty at arraignment to a charge of driving while license barred. The prison term was suspended and he was placed on probation for two years. He was fined $625 with a $218.75 surcharge. Court costs were $100. (Sentencing: Kester)
Richard Lee Norton Jr, 37, of Panora was fined $100 with a $35 surcharge after he pleaded guilty to a charge of assault- simple, amended from domestic abuse assault- third or subsequent offense. He was fined $100 with a $35 surcharge. He must also pay $60 restitution for his court appointed attorney’s fees and $100 court costs.
Persons pleaded not guilty at arraignment as follows: William Steven McClure, 22, of Jefferson, domestic abuse assault impeded blood/air flow; and Martin John Tolsdorf, 52, of Grand Junction, domestic abuse assault causing injury- first offense. Trial dates were set for Feb. 28 in both cases.
A case was initiated Dec. 10 against James Alan Watters, 50, of Jefferson on charges of domestic abuse assault display or use weapon, intimidation with dangerous weapon, assault with intent to commit sexual assault, and burglary- first degree.
